How to use Dropbox

This guide covers how to send a file to a dropbox user who has sent you a dropbox invite via email. In the email you have recieved, click 'Get started here.' If you don't have an email you can click here to download dropbox and create and account.

Enter your details and click 'Create Account.'

Follow the on screen instructions to run and install the dropbox program. It will start downloading automatically.

Select 'I already have a dropbox account.'

Select the '2GB - Free' option.

Select 'Typical' settings.

Choose 'Skip tour' if you wish.

Open the 'Public' folder that appears. You can access this by double-clicking on the dropbox icon in the system tray by the clock. In this folder you can put any files you wish to trasfer. They will be uploaded as you put them in this folder. You may find it easier to send multiple files as a single zip file.

Right click on the file you wish to send, go to the Dropbox submenu and choose 'Copy Public Link'.

You can then paste this link into an email, and send it to the recipient of the files.

When they click on this link, a web browser will appear and request to save the file to their computer.
