How to stop a email sending at the last minute! If you have an Exchange Server and your outgoing email is still in a queue you may have a chance to stop it before it begins its journey across the Internet to its destination. In Microsoft’s Small Business Server 2003 you can get to the queues and stop an email leaving like this: Interactively or at a terminal connection with the server: Click: Start, All Programs, Exchange, System Manager, Servers, [your server name] Queues, Then click the “Disable Outbound Mail” button Then click the “Find Messages” button Fill in the sender etc detail Then click the “Find Now” button If your email is in a queue it should appear in the list after a short wait. You should have options, including a right click option to delete it. When you have discovered that email is not in a queue or have deleted it click the “Enable Outbound Mail” button which will have replaced the Disable Outbound Mail button. |
